Job Description as Deck Crew Scaffolder with Stork:

  • Permanent Deck Crew Scaffolder position available as part of the Stork Core Crew Services Team on a 2/3 trip rotation.

Task and Responsibilities as Deck Crew Scaffolder:

Main Duties

  • To provide scaffold and deck support to the platform shared services department. 
  • The post holder will ensure that all work is performed safely and carried out to a high standard aligned with CNOOC’s Cultural beliefs. 
  • Proactively support additional platform work-scopes as delegated by Line Supervisor. 
  • Involved in deck crew and crane operations on-board the Platform. 
  • Deck management ensuring the decks are kept clean, tidy and well maintained
  • Reports to Stork Services Team Leader & Scaffold Foreman/CH for successful provision of Scaffolding and deck support to all offshore operations and reporting back on progress.
  • Support Supply chain operations: including but not limited to, supply boat cargo/bulk operations, preparing backload and unloading containers.
  • Assist with ensuring that planned activities are managed in accordance with agreed targets.
  • Erect scaffold to company and industry standards.
  • Ensure that all equipment is operated and maintained within the manufacturer’s specifications and operational procedures.
  • Using the NSSOW permit system as a performing authority for raising and accepting work permits.
  • Carry out HDA/HLO duties.
  • Must ensure a valid work permit is issued for relevant work scopes, ensure all procedures are in place
  • Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and confident working both as part of a team and on own initiative. 

HSEQ Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tasks are risk assessed and undertaken in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all tools/plant and equipment utilised is fit for purpose and where applicable fully certified.
  • Contribute to the platform safety culture by utilising the observation programme.
  • Ensure all necessary controls are in place to minimise risk and eliminate environmental hazards/incidents.
  • Actively participate in safety and environmental awareness meetings.
  • Contribute to the platform permit auditing process.
  • Cooperate with Line Management and Supervision in the prevention of all work-related accidents, ill health and promote environmental good practice by adopting the appropriate behaviours.
  • Adhere to health, safety and environmental instructions and procedures.
  • Ensure the correct PPE is work for carrying out all work activities.
  • Adhere to CNOOC’s Lifesaving rules.
  • Lead by example

Specific Requirements for Deck Crew Scaffolder:

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Relevant Scaffolding & Deck Operations Experience in an Offshore Environment
  • Knowledge of Stork and CNOOC HSEQ Policies and Procedures
  • Communication Skills (both written and oral)
  • Permit to Work Skills Competency

Minimum Training Requirements

Essential

  • Banksman Slinger Level Three (OPITIO Approved)
  • BOSIET/Approved Offshore Medical 
  • CISRS (ADVANCED)
  • Offshore Survival (FOET)/ Current UKOOA Medical/ MIST
  • HDA
  • Dangerous Goods By Air
  • OPITO Rigging and Lifting Stage 3
  • ERT Medical
  • IRATA Rope access level 1,2 or 3

Desirable

  • HAVS Awareness
  • COSHH Awareness
  • HERTL 
  • Offshore First Aid                                                                                                                              

Competencies

  • Possesses a good standard in spoken and written English. 
  • Possesses a good understanding of safe working practices and can demonstrate commitment to safe working at all times. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work with the minimum of supervision being 100% committed to team involvement 
  • Supervise Core and Adhoc scaffolders
