Marine Construction Specialist (Projects) - Flexible Location, UK Based - Permanent - Competitive Salary + Car

One of the leading dredging and marine contractor businesses in the UK is recruiting for a Marine Construction Specialist to manage and monitor the execution of projects.

Reporting to the Project Manager, key responsibilities include; 

  • Assisting the Project Manager or Project Director during the drawing up of the execution plans, discussing the execution principles, assessing and planning material use and deployment.
  • Maintaining and encouraging a satisfactory relationship and consulting with client’s supervisors, JV partners and third partners.
  • Issuing advice regarding the purchase of new material and desired adjustments to existing equipment.
  • Pre-selecting materials and subcontractors, holding preparatory discussions with contractors, suppliers of materials, machine rent businesses and drawing up contracts.
  • Responsibility for keeping a site diary and supplying data for the project and final reports.
  • Implementing and approving the HSE and QA plan.

The successful candidate will have worked in a similar position in the marine construction industry and have extensive project management experience. You will also have excellent knowledge of quality and safety systems and have knowledge of local laws and regulations, including obtaining permits. 

Firefighting, survival at sea, VOL-VCA safety diploma for operational managers and First Aid are all required. 

The role involves travelling for UK based projects and can be based from two locations in either the North or South of the UK, when not working remotely.

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications

Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
