Job Description as Hydraulic Technician with Stork:

To support in the overall delivery of the Group’s business objectives, whilst implementing departmental procedures in line with Company standards.

Responsible for plant and equipment maintenance in accordance with procedures.

Task and Responsibilities as Hydraulic Technician:

Servicing, Maintenance & Testing

  • General plant & equipment maintenance, in accordance with procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Function checking of all plant & equipment.
  • Assist with PUWER & LOLER compliance and ensuring that all is in accordance to applicable legislation
  • Assist with the visual inspection of all plant, equipment and ancillary equipment (both company owned and 3rd party) prior to mobilisation.

HSEQ

  • Be aware of, and understand your HSEQ responsibilities relevant to your role, if unsure ask your Line Manager
  • Work in partnership with HSEQ on any HSEQ matters
  • Work in accordance with your departmental HSEQ Service Level Agreement (if in existence)
  • Understand and adhere to the Safer Together behaviours – See Appendix A (WORKFORCE behaviours are applicable) 

People

  • Develop others skills and experience.

Recording

  • Assist with the compilation of check sheets, to facilitate stores manifesting.
  • Assist with ensuring that accurate inspection records are maintained.
  • Assist with the compilation of certification packs including operator’s instructions, and ensuring that all are valid.

Specific Requirements for Hydraulic Technician: 

Education

Essential

  • GCSE, Higher education or experience commensurate with the role and have demonstrated an appropriate level of technical competence.
  • Time served mechanic with excellent product knowledge and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in comparable role.

Desirable

  • PUWER & LOLER
  • COSHH & Manual Handling
  • Task Risk Assessment
  • Forklift
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Product Specific Training
  • ATEX Training

Experience

  • Experience in a similar role / offshore
  • Rigging and Lifting 
  • Banksman Slinging 
  • Maintenance and servicing of Hydraulic Equipment on back deck 
  • Operation of Equipment on back deck during diver operation 

Additional Requirements

  • Offshore Travel will be required
