Mechanical Design Engineer – Permanent – Liverpool – £Competitive

A leading Marine Design & Technology business is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a multi-disciplined production and engineering department to design, develop and maintain inflatable craft, assemblies and systems in the form of 3D models, drawings and documentation to required specifications.

The role will involve: –

  • Developing inflatable, bonded & sewn assemblies / fabrications in line with the facilities of on-site production
  • Continuous development of previously manufactured products to bring in line with updated design standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of drawing and document control and revision procedures – maintaining ISO 9001 QMS accreditation.
  • Coordinating design input for onsite CNC manufacturing facilities.
  • Working on products & projects from concept to completion, including implementation and testing.
  • Collaboration between project management, purchasing and production teams.
  • Interaction with clients, suppliers and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have experience of: –

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant STEM field, or HND with significant relevant experience.
  • Experience of Solidworks CAD Software, however experience with certain 3D modelling packages may be acceptable.
  • Experience with AlphaCAM or equivalent CAD / CAM software.
  • Relevant experience within the Maritime industry or similar.
  • Full valid Driving License.
