Port Vessel Unit Engineer – UK

We are looking for a Port Vessel Unit (PVU) Engineer.

Job Purpose

• To provide technical advice and support to the Master at all times.
• To be responsible for the safety and efficiency of all mechanical machinery, electrical equipment and hydraulic systems on the vessel.
• To ensure clear, positive communication and understanding is maintained with the shore-based Superintendent, on all matters technical.

Experience required.

• Minimum of 3 years’ service as 2nd Engineer.
• Excellent maintenance and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience of working with small vessels.
• Can work well under pressure, act quickly and decisively using sound judgement.

• Flexible attitude to work.
• Safety orientated.
• Enthusiastic and pro- active attitude
• Good planning and organisational qualities
• Good communication, analytical and leadership skills
• Ability to work unsupervised and motivate others.
• Physically able to carry out routine maintenance tasks.
• Computer literate and able to work PM systems and other programs with training.
• Good knowledge of English language
