BID/CAPTURE MANAGER

Navis Consulting are working with a client who are looking for an enthusiastic Bid / Capture Manager to join their leading advanced maritime technology business. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving the companies objectives by leading the bid and proposal process within the commercial team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the overall proposal/ bid development process from Pre-Proposal Phase through Post-Proposal Phase for priority/strategic proposals
  • Coach and train, where required, the wider team on the development of complex, compliant and compelling proposal responses to BAAs, RFPs and RFIs
  • Produce and manage proposal outlines and bid development, kick-off documentation, storyboards, mock-ups, compliance matrices, and proposal deliverables
  • Supporting and promoting Business Development tools e.g., Business Winning Toolkit, Capture Plan Templates
  • Develop and maintain proposal schedules, and drive proposal team in adherence to the schedule from beginning to end, ensuring early deliver to the customer
  • Analyse Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) and/or Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for requirements to drive compliance
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior MS Office/ Adobe skills
  • Must have excellent English skills.
  • Working closely with the Commercial team to ensure the bid plan and the team are focused on development of compelling, innovative, class leading proposals and capability documents to meet submission deadlines

Your skills and qualifications as a Bid/ Capture Manager:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of bid/proposal techniques and best practice
  • Leads bid governance/proposal activity on multiple complex/large bids/proposals
  • Proven skills in tailoring processes and applying governance to bids including coordinating and challenging the cost and price build up.
  • Proven skills in producing and editing written content within a complex technical business environment where time, quality, cost and commercial sensitivity are driving factors
  • Knowledge of the latest bid/proposal best practice in industry and seeks to apply new techniques to their solutions where possible
  • Accreditation by the APMP (or equivalent) and experience in the Shipley methodology for proposal production
  • Experience within the Defence/Aerospace/Maritime industry is an advantage
