This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping company based in Glasgow.

As Marine HR Manager you will have overall responsibility from a strategic perspective but also for ensuring the effective running of all aspects of Marine HR for the Gas Fleet including 1) marine HR operations; 2) recruitment of sea staff at all levels; 3) training of new and existing sea staff and 4) the efficient running of the training centre

Responsibilities include:

• Accountability for the day-to-day operations from a marine HR perspective
• Responsibility for devising and overseeing implementation of a recruitment strategy for sea staff
• Responsibility for devising and overseeing implementation of a strategy for training and development of sea staff
• Realising the potential of the training centres and ensuring smooth and efficient running of the same
• Interfacing with global manning offices and approved agencies
• Ensuring legislation/regulation monitoring and compliance within the marine HR team
• Internal compliance with existing policies, developing and implementing new policies as required
• Structuring the team and resources in an effective manner so as to ensure all key aspects of marine HR are proactively addressed.

Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a senior Marine HR shore position
• Seafaring background in a senior rank strongly preferred
• Strong people management, organisation and leadership skills
• Understanding of manning functions within the organization
• Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner
• Knowledge of marine training and certification legislation and requirements
• Familiar with industry regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
