Marine Manager (LNG) – Permanent – Glasgow – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping company based in Glasgow.

As Marine Manager you will provide expert knowledge, operational advice and primary support to the Gas Fleet teams afloat and ashore on all marine related aspects.

Responsibilities include:

• Support the safe operation of the fleet, as per Statutory, International and local regulations, as well as Industry best practices
• Work closely with all members of the gas fleet, ship and shore, to monitor and enhance operational performance
• Participate in budget preparation, lifecycle and new business projections
• Responsible for developing Marine safety standards in all aspects of Marine Operations including but not limited to navigation, cargo, ship to ship and mooring operations, providing expert knowledge and operational advice where required
• Manage and continually improve the Terminal and ship database
• Undertake port and terminal compatibility studies, Due Diligence and Safe Port Assessments for New terminals or first visit terminals
• Participate in pre-meetings and attend terminal commissioning
• Responsible for ensuring that all STS transfers are planned and completed safely
• Provide marine and commercial expertise to support business development

Experience Required:

• Hold minimum of Chief Mate Unlimited CoC (Master Mariner preferred)
• Experienced in marine operations of Liquefied Gas Carriers. Prior sailing as a Senior Deck Officer on Liquefied Gas Carriers is required
• Knowledge, experience and understanding of safety and quality management practices in the marine industry
• Good knowledge in International Maritime Regulations and Marine Industry standards
• Terminal design and commissioning experience preferred
• Must have right to live and work in the UK
