Harbour Master (Ports) – Permanent – Kent, UK - £Excellent package

One of the UK’s leading ports is recruiting for a Harbour Master to join the Senior Management Team in Gravesend, Kent (as well working from the offices in Central London).

Key duties include;

• Responsibility for the direction, control and co-ordination of a safe and efficient service within the port
• Ensuring that all statutory provisions relating to port marine operations are met fully and cost-effective
• Ensuring the safety of navigation whilst optimising the service provided to customers and other users of the Port.

The successful candidate will have sailed as a Master Mariner or have an MCA approved UK Harbour Masters Certificate (or suitable equivalent) and have a proven track-record of working in a management position in port operations.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of, national and international legislation and procedures affecting port operations. They will have experience of formal risk assessment processes and familiarity with port safety management systems.
