Senior Design Engineer (Small crafts) – South West England

My client is growing in size due to work load and is looking for a Senior Designer to join the team. A largely project based role, focusing on small power craft and tenders, you will also be producing 3D models and production drawings.

Responsibilities:

• Lead projects and manage all aspects of design and delivery from concept to completion
• Produce 3D models and production drawings
• Deliver engineering and design solutions, for example, moving components and complex hinge mechanisms
• Create Bills of Materials
• Project manage multiple external suppliers and contractors whilst respecting the budget and time schedules
• Work with the fit-out team in house. Hands on approach is usually necessary for this.
• Deal with high profile clients and shipyards

Requirements:

• Experience in a marine design role with small craft or yachting
• Expert using 2D and 3D CAD
• Autodesk Fusion 360 and Solidworks is desirable
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Salesforce
• A good understanding of materials and low volume production techniques
• Confident communicator in the English language
• Design-based qualification (Degree or equivalent)

Applicants must have an existing right to live and work in the UK. As this position is urgent, it is ideally suited to someone already living in the UK or able to move on short notice.
