Our Ship Owner and Management client are currently looking for a Fleet Training, Compliance & Systems Manager, to join their team based in Glasgow.
The Successful Applicant
Essential
- HND or related qualifications for e.g. seagoing qualifications.
- At least 5 years in a shore-based fleet training, L & D or Crewing role out of which at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Extensive Stakeholder management experience, specifically in relation to Client Management.
- Previous line manager experience.
- Project Management experience.
Desirable
- Seagoing experience.
Job Description
- Accountable for the formulation and management of Fleet Training and Competence strategy. Together with the Fleet Training and Development Manager ensuring that budgets for both technically and crew managed vessels are met.
- In conjunction with the Fleet Training and Development Manager accountable for Marine Learning and Development function including cadet strategy, setting marine competence standards, creating, and implementing development plans with input from relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible for any systems in place within the company for compliance / training or crewing, coordinating their implementation (if necessary), contracts renegotiation in liaison with other stakeholders, and in liaison with stakeholders collating data on their effectiveness.
- Acting as focal point for any changes to systems or procedures ensuring that management of change procedures are implemented.
- In conjunction with the Lead HR compliance controller responsible for Marine compliance including any external and internal audits related to company’s areas of responsibility.
- Company focal point for liaising with clients, flags and other stakeholders for any queries related to seafarer certification, training or compliance with international regulations.
- Work with the Marine Learning and Development Coordinator and Head of Marine Resource to ensure a holistic approach to seafarer selection and promotion.
- Line management for the Fleet Training and Development team & Lead HR compliance controller.
- Work with the Personnel Director to identify, implement and monitor digitalisation projects within the company.
- Work with the Personnel Director for implementing innovation across the business.
- Lead any other projects as required by the Personnel Director or Company Directors.
- Part of the company’s Crewing New Business Tender response team.
- Part of the company’s Emergency Response team.
