Job Description as Cleaning Assistant with Stork:

To provide a comprehensive cleaning service for all areas of Aberdeen Head Office including office spaces, meeting areas, reception area, kitchens and toilets.

Task and Responsibilities as Cleaning Assistant:

General Office Space

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
  • Dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments
  • To ensure cleanliness of kitchen at all times including but not limited to, dishes, fridge / freezer, microwave, surfaces and floor
  • Clean entryways, lobbies, restrooms, entrance foyer glass
  • Maintain hard floors
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls and paper towels)
  • Conduct a regular stock check to ensure adequate stocks of cleaning materials and hygiene supplies, liaising with the Facilities team to ensure orders are placed

Commercial Buildings and Walkways

  • Clean commercial buildings by emptying rubbish bins transporting waste material to designated collection points, servicing toilets, sinks and wiping down communal surfaces
  • Clean medical environments
  • Ensure outside walkways remain clear and free of debris

HSEQ

  • Ensure only authorised and approved cleaning materials are used, in line with manufacturers recommended use and current procedures
  • Ensure chemical safety through COSHH Management
  • Mix and dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately
  • Ensure spills are cleaned up efficiently
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and instructions
  • Check, use, maintain and report defects for all cleaning equipment used in line with current procedures
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Be aware of, and understand your HSEQ responsibilities relevant to your role, if unsure ask your Line Manager
  • Understand and adhere to the Safer Together behaviours – See Appendix A (WORKFORCE behaviours are applicable).
  • Contribute to a culture of HSEQ improvement.

Specific Requirements for Cleaning Assistant:

Education

  • GCSE, Higher education or equivalent experience commensurate with the role.

Experience

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a customer orientated role (preferred not essential)
