RoRo Engineer (Ferries) – Scotland - Permanent - Excellent Package

A leading Ship Owner and Operator based near Glasgow is currently recruiting for a RoRo Engineer to join the busy team.

Reporting to the Senior RoRo Engineer, the purpose of the role will be to support the 30 Roll on Roll Off passenger ferries by inspecting and maintaining the vessels cargo handling equipment.

Other key duties will include;

  • Providing expert knowledge and hands on support on all aspects of marine hydraulic and RoRo equipment.
  • Liasing with Senior RoRo Engineer in the annual creation of fleet hydraulic and RoRo work schedules.
  • Attending all vessels and conduct annual inspections, surveys and performance tests of RoRo and Hydraulic equipment.
  • Annual review of RoRo and hydraulic equipment identifying and providing solutions to any potential risks to system operation due to obsolescence.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the ISM code, regulatory requirements, certification and manufacturer recommendations in your area of responsibility are up-to-date.
  • In conjunction with annual inspections, plan and create work specifications for vessel annual overhauls and In Service Maintenance Periods (ISMP).

Proven experience with RoRo and hydraulic equipment is essential, along with the ability to demonstrate experience of working in a similar post validating experience of prioritisation, decision making and producing results in a high pressure environment.

The successful individual will have an HNC and/or professional qualifications in Marine Hydraulic systems.

You will also have excellent communication skills, integrity and passion about the role and be willing to undertake all reasonable training, learning and development activity designed to support your role.

Work Experience Requirements

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications

Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
