Marine Designer (Yachts) – Southampton – Permanent – £35,000 – £50,000

A leading name in the the yacht industry is looking for an Marine Designer to join their strong team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibility for the production of 3D models and photo-realistic renderings of both exterior and interior areas.
• Work closely with the design and construction teams to investigate and resolve complex performance, manufacturing and aesthetic issues.
• To communicate and translate the exterior design information to the client, shipyard and suppliers
• Using initiative and self-motivation to keep up to date with current trends and technologies

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Essential experience in one or more of the following: Rhino, 3D Studio Max, Catia, Alias, Cinema 4D
• Proven skills on 3D rendering software such as, VRay, Keyshot
• Comprehensive understanding of form and surface treatment of large and complex surfaces
• Hand sketching
• Interest and experience of interiors, able to specify materials, finishes, furniture, lights.
• Good interpersonal skills, forming effective working relationships with the rest of the team.
• Ability to think on your feet, making decisions that ensure client expectations are met, whilst also knowing at what point to escalate to the team leaders for support
• Ability to communicate and translate design to the client and the shipyard
• Exceptional, creative, passionate, innovative approach to design
• Strong IT skills
• Good team player, able to assist where needed
• Excellent time management skills
