Marine Superintendent (Ports) - Kent, UK - Permanent - Highly Competitive
One of the UK's busiest Ports is recruiting for a Marine Superintendent to join the team in Kent.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the post holder will be an authorised Master of all Port Vessel Unit vessels, capable of providing vessel services to their full range of customers.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to);
- Monitoring and controlling budgets in conjunction with the Technical Superintendent, with particular reference to personnel, consumables and cleaning materials.
- Ensuring the continuity of marine services throughout the Port by liaising with other departments to minimise impact on delivery.
- Deputising for the General Manager, Marine Services & Harbour Master in his absence and when requested.
- Developing action plans to improve marine services performance and marine management structure and processes and work towards world class operational excellence.
- Acting as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) for the Port Vessel Unit as required by the ISM Code.
- Overseeing the day to day provision of operational activity, ensuring output matches customer requirement.
- Performing investigations into accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences as directed.
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of STCW II/2 Master and have previous experience in a similar position ashore.
You must also have experience in the management and audit processes of a Safety Management System.
You will have leadership, passion and acumen in the management of cross cultural people and relationships to solve problems and drive results.

All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications
Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
