Hydrographic Surveyor (Ports) – North East – Permanent – circa £35,000

A rare opportunity has arisen with a leading port operator in the North East for a Hydrographic Surveyor to join the Marine team.

You will be responsible for the production of hydrographic survey information to allow for the river to be maintained at a navigable depth. Ensuring all surveys are conducted in accordance with the PMSC and the Marine Safety Management System, along with associated legislation in the Port’s jurisdiction.

Additional tasks include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the project management of capital and maintenance dredging campaigns, including environmental and legislative requirements.
• Assist in management of marine licenses.
• Management of river events.
• Deputise for the Marine Services Manager as required.

The successful applicant will ideally have a degree in Hydrographic studies and membership to a relevant professional body. Good experience of inshore survey techniques is a must.
