Marine Surveyor (Materials and Components) - Permanent – Rhein-Ruhr region, Germany – Competitive

A leading Classification Society is currently recruiting for a Marine Surveyor to join the team in the Rhein-Ruhr region in Germany.

Working as part of a team of passionate professionals, key responsibilities will include;

• Completing surveys of material and equipment intended for marine applications at manufacturer’s works and laboratories.
• Understanding and interpreting national and international rules and regulations applicable for marine assets.
• Understanding the basic principles of risk management.
• Providing good control of projects, including communicating with clients, financial control and timely and accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture and have a proven track-record as a Marine Surveyor. You will also have specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to optimise the application of existing and emerging technology.

Seagoing experience in a senior rank on-board is highly advantageous.

Fluency in the German language, both written and verbal, is essential.
