Job Description as IT Infrastructure Engineer With Stork:

Design, implement and maintain fit-for-purpose technical solutions for internal clients based on business requirements in line with the technology architecture and standards.        

Tasks And Responsibilities asIT Infrastructure Engineer:

Analysis

  • Analyse the business needs to specific technology solutions
  • Review of functional and non-functional requirements on consistency

Technical Design and Implementation 

  • Design technology solutions within architecture guidelines
  • Maintain documentation of technical design of solutions
  • Ensure acceptance by business representative and Technology Service Manager
  • Manage delivery of technical solutions based on defined acceptance criteria
  • Lead and/or participate in technology projects in line with the defined IT Governance models and based on applicable project management principles              

Innovation and Optimization 

  • Propose innovative solutions to reduce complexity and/or costs of ownership of technology services
  • Ensure embedding of accepted innovations in technology roadmaps 

Knowledge  

  • Maintain knowledge of ICT infrastructure architectures and solutions, including required certification levels
  • Analyse internal and external developments with regard to IT solutions

Change Management  

  • Assess business change request and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions with services providers (in- and/or external)
  • Monitor the implementation of changes by maintaining a change calendar together with the service providers (in- and/or external)

Projects 

  • Participate in relevant IT Projects

Specific Requirements For IT Infrastructure Engineer:

Education

  • Bachelor level in IT, electrical engineering or similar
  • Relevant product certifications (e.g. MSCE, Oracle, CISCO)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Infrastructure Technology (network, servers, solutions)
    • Service Management processes (ITIL)
  • Ability to translate business requirement into technology solutions and/or service KPI’s

Experience and Technical Expertise

  • Extensive hands on technical experience
  • Substantial hands on experience of Service Level Management
  • Experience in service management support
  • Experience in the following:
    • NetApp
    • Cisco WAN,LAN,WLAN
    • VMWare
    • Active Directory Domain Services
    • MS Wintel Server
    • MS SQL Server
    • MS Exchange
    • MS SCCM & McAfee ePO
    • Citrix
