General Terminal Operative (Ports) – Permanent – Southampton – Competitive Package

Navis Consulting are working on an exciting opportunity for Port Operatives to join a growing port operator at their developing site in Southampton.

In this varied role you will carry out cargo operations including the mooring of vessels, loading/unloading and securing of cargo. Full training will be provided for the use of specialised heavy plant and machinery with industry qualifications.

In order to support the MoD both in the UK and overseas, applicants will be trained to become Sponsored Reserves (SR). SRs gain experience in both worlds of MoD and civilian environments which provides global exposure to the industry.

As part of the role, there will be opportunities to deploy worldwide on short assignments to meet and discharge/load the vessels. There will also be opportunities to deploy for longer durations to carry out vessel operations. You will be paid up to £1000 per month in addition to standard pay for deployments.

Essential Requirements

• Full Valid UK driving licence
• Valid passport with minimum 6 months remaining at all times
• 5 years UK residency
• A British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen
• Aged between 18-49yrs
• Physically Fit
• Able to pass UK Government Security Clearance
• Port Operating experience or appropriate transferable skills (working with heavy plant equipment etc)
• GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics
• Aptitude to learn new skills and have a flexible outlook
