Health & Safety Manager (Ports) - Permanent - South Coast - £Competitive Salary

A reputable Shipping Services company within a busy Port is actively recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join the team.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to add value to the Company by the efficient and effective management of health and safety for the whole site, in accordance with legislation and the Company standards, policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include; 

• Providing appropriate technical guidance and expertise to the Company.
• Taking tactical ownership and application of Health and Safety strategies, objectives and policies.
• Managing Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Hazard Surveys with assistance from Operational Managers and staff where necessary
• Ensuring that the working environment is maintained by use of pro-active management
• Ensuring that Health, Safety, Environmental and Port Security issues are managed within statutory requirements

The successful candidate will have proven experience of operations management, with a Health & Safety bias, preferably in a port or related environment.

You will also be confident in developing and executing health & Safety plans in the work place, according to legal guidelines.

 The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and people management skills, exceptional communication skills and ability to present at all levels and have experience of budgetary responsibility and control.

You must have the right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this position.
