Seaworthy Consulting are looking for a Marine General Manager.

Location – West Coast Scotland
Annual Salary -£45,000 - £50,000
Start Date- ASAP

This position is working Monday to Friday, however due to the nature of the role hours of work must be flexible and on-call will be required.

Accommodation is available in a shared house.

Purpose of the role:

To attain and implement the Company's General Management Policies and Principles in particular, the Ships Management System SMS/ISM. To attain and comply with the stated principles and objectives of the Department of Safety Management and Quality Assistance. The Manager will provide the link between the Company and those on board.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Regular communication with the Marine Ops Superintendent.
  • Take responsibility for the crewing of company vessel, and ensuring all certificates are in date.
  • Assisting the Crewing Administrator with crew travel, claims for reimbursement for expenses outstanding leave and arrangement of training where required. Also arranging fuel in the Crewing Administrators absence.
  • Collecting news and information concerning rules and regulations emanating from National International and Industry bodies.
  • Ensuring effective communication between the Company and on-board crew.
  • Arranging for any external audits to take place as required.
  • Assisting where applicable with drawing up commercial agreements for company vessels and helping with site visits and liaising with customers.
  • Ensuring hours of work and rest regulations are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate vessel personnel on security matters and ensuring they comply with the Ship Security Plan.
  • Conducting annual security audits and reporting on convulsions and any con-conformances to - - Company Directors as well as ensuring any corrective actions is carried out.
  • Ensuring vessel personnel are aware of Emergency Response Team Procedures, and also being available as part of the Emergency Response Team supported by Company Directors.
  • Supervising and performing internal audits on-board Company vessels, reporting on conclusions on Ship Safety Committee meeting following up on suggested corrective actions.
  • Judging the level of resources provided by the Company towards safety and environmental protection and making appropriate suggestions.
