HSEQ Superintendent (LNG) – Permanent – Glasgow – Competitive package

The HSEQ Superintendent supports gas operations and is responsible for HSEQ matters together with supporting the implementation and application of security policies to ensure effective use of the Marine Management System. This position also acts as CSO and Deputy DPA.

Responsibilities include:

• Treat health, safety , security and environment as top priority
• Monitor compliance with all agreed external management system standards ( ISM Code, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
• Perform the role and responsibility of CSO
• Perform the role and responsibility of Deputy DPA
• Drive operational leadership in relevant HSEQ matters.
• Support and liaise with HSEQ Manager on global issues and initiatives.
• Support day to day processes of the vessel and Ops team.
• Review ISPS audits reports and liaise closely with all relevant parties to ensure effective implementation of actions and approve closure of the audit.
• Work closely with all members of the gas fleet, ship and shore, to ensure effective monitoring and implementation of the Management System and continuous improvement in HSEQ performance.

Qualifications / Experience required:

• Sea going experience as a deck officer on gas tankers
• Hold a Chief Mate Unlimited or Master Unlimited license
• Good knowledge in International Maritime Regulations, statutory requirements, Maritime Safety and Security Code (ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS Code)
• Good knowledge and experience in marine industry HSEQ practices, marine incident investigation and auditing.
• Analytical, problem solving, time management and decision making skills.
