Senior Engineer (Scantling Structures) – Contract – Bristol or Glasgow

I have a position available for a Senior Engineer working on scantlings and seats to join one of my client’s sites in either Bristol or Glasgow on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out investigations and technical analyses of designs
• Produce structural designs with the support of calculations for ship scantling issues or seat designs
• Liaise with Detail Design teams and equipment owners
• Prepare design sketches when required

Requirements:

• Ability to perform analysis using recognised tools as well as making sound judgements based on experience
• Experience within an engineering, defence or related background
• Experience with naval ships
• Understanding of LCM
• Confident using AutoCAD
• Experience using STAAD.pro
• Knowledge of warship design
• You should be working towards registration for Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status
• A Degree in a related discipline is desirable but not essential
• You should be able and willing to travel within the UK on an occasional basis
