Fleet Compliance Officer (Ferries) – Permanent – Glasgow area – Excellent package

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK’s largest ferry operators based near Glasgow.

The purpose of this role is to support the Fleet HSEQ Manager with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Security concerning the company’s vessels to ensure compliance with ISM Code, the ISPS Code, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide professional support to vessel operations for all relevant HSQE matters
  • Assist with annual audit planning
  • Carry out internal audit against the company standards on vessels and support services
  • Carry out security reviews on applicable company vessels against the ship’s security plans
  • Monitor and review the audit data, inspection data including the independent audit and inspection data, as well as incident investigations for trends and weaknesses and assist the operations team in formulating action plans to address these
  • Participate in investigations of incidents and near misses with the objective to establish root cause and corrective action

Experience Required:

  • STCW Certificate of Competence II/2, or relevant industry experience
  • Good understanding of the PMSC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and the requirement s of these standards
  • Lead Auditor qualification for ISM
  • Designated Person Qualification
  • Good understanding of the ISM Code, ISPS Code, UK domestic shipping industry standards and regulations, including UK flag and Class rules for domestic passenger ships
  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK
