Technical Manager (RoRo) – FTC – Glasgow area – Excellent package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading ferry operator based near Glasgow on a fixed term contract until May 2020.

The Role Holder will be responsible for provision of Technical/ Engineering Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for the project.

Responsibilities include;

• The Technical Specialist will be responsible for the development and evaluation of all the technical content required to develop a comprehensive scope of requirements for the tender process. Specifically:
  • Development of the Technical Specifications for use with the tender
  • Ensuring that a full four year maintenance schedule and program is identified and developed for each vessels key items of equipment (working with the Asset Management Planner)
  • Ensuring the quality of the Technical information required is of a standard to ensure bidders can submit accurate prices.
  • The development of technical evaluation criteria in cooperation with Procurement Specialist

Experience Required;

• Unlimited Class 1/2 marine engineer’s certificate or equivalent or higher qualification
• Be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in all aspects of Ro-Ro vessel overhauls/dockings and projects
• Demonstrate considerable experience of effective specification scoping and writing
• Demonstrate an ability to foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Candidates with lower qualifications who can demonstrate knowledge and experience of Ro-Ro passenger vessels is advantageous

Must have right to live and work in the UK and must be able to commute to the office.
