Job description

Reporting to: Deck Foreman

To coordinate the installations materials requirements: purchasing, supply and receipt: Inventory control: Focal point for dangerous goods dispatch and receipt. Raises manifests and maintains the relevant sections of the Maximo (MMS) pertaining to materials and stores management

  • Maintain an effective stores system, ensuring all materials are stowed and segregated correctly in accordance with company procedures and legislation; regular inventory checks of stored spares and consumables, gases and lubricating oils.
  • Materials Co-ordinator Responsibilities•Control all “work orders”, responsible for all the materials onboard the asset
  • Responsible for all shutdown and start up related equipment
  • Manage all the repairs and have a daily report with all the urgent material on order
  • Control the drums of oil / chemicals onboard the asset
  • Ensure correct manifests for all materials transported by sea and air
  • Ensure that all back loaded materials (containers, tanks, baskets etc.) comply with IMDG and IATA regulations.
  • Ensure all material COSHH MSDS sheets are delivered with hazardous materials and filed: liaise with the Safety/ Compliance Advisor to ensure that copies are distributed to areas of storage/availability along with assessments. Check special instructions for handling and storage in accordance with company procedures, legislation and other guidelines
  • Process all consignment notes, manifests, dangerous goods declarations and hazard waste notifications.
  • Check all materials received; their certification, advice notes and markings, prior to distribution (Segregate damaged goods); inform relevant departments of the arrival of work order items: Catalogue materials for inventory: Update the MAXIMO system.
  • Mark shelf lives on items; ensure user departments are notified of expiry dates.
  • Liaise with the Deck Foremen re. backload items and utilisation of laydown areas: Segregation of dangerous goods: Ensure coordinated load planning and vessel utilisation.
  • Liaise with Deck Foreman and Crane Operator to ensure all containers, half-heights, tanks, etc have appropriate lifting certification and are returned onshore prior to their expiry dates
  • Liaise with the Deck foremen, Catering Manager and Medic reference waste control and returns.
  • Liaise with Marine/Cargo Operator and onshore Logistics to ensure minimum 14 days’ supply of consumables such as diesel and potable water are maintained.
  • Maintain accurate stock control.
  • Raise MR’s in a timely manner ensuring correct assigned priorities and cost codes.
  • Advise relevant departments of any material delivery delays, spares status and estimated delivery times.
  • Cross check WO receipts to the relevant work, inform discipline Lead Tech.
  • Segregate materials assigned to shutdown work and maintain inventory for cross checking.
  • Liaise with the OIM and onshore logistics to acquire additional transport by sea or air: Apply appropriate cost codes.
  • Respond to ‘out of hours’ urgent spare requirements.
  • Ensure all activities are undertaken safely and within current practices and procedures.
  • Maintain an inventory of temporary rental equipment on-board and where cited.
  • In the event of an emergency, carries out such duties as identified in the station bill/emergency response procedure or as directed by the OIM.  Personnel are required to undertake the training to equip them for these roles.

HSE & COMPLIANCE

Any task considered necessary by Enquest which has a direct bearing on health, Safety and environmental issues to negate the possibility of: Accidents; harm to people; damage to the environment

  • Maintain compliance with the installation safety case
  • Adopt safe-working practices always in accordance with the EnQuest’s operating procedures
  • Ensure all work including that of third parties are carried out in accordance with EnQuest’s procedures and standards including Proscient, Permit to Work
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and relevant health, safety and environmental practices
  • Undertake a variety of audit and monitoring functions to establish that safe and best practice is implemented in the work assigned including but not limited to shift STOP tours, Area inspections, permit to work (WCC) and isolation (ICC) audits under the  Proscient system
  • Proactive in the management of waste materials around the platform demonstrating compliance with the company’s waste segregation policy
  • Inspect and maintain platform bulk hoses to ensure compliance with BEIS recommendations
  • Promote and be proactive in the team of environmental champions within Enquest’s environmental procedures
  • Participate fully in installation safety initiatives and safety training observation programme
  • Ensures that the work conditions and environment are maintained in a safe and healthy condition.
  • Acts responsibly and takes all necessary precautions to protect him, fellow workers and any other persons who may be affected by his activities from injury and preventable illness.
  • Ensures that any defects in working practices, machinery, tools, equipment, protective measures and protective clothing are immediately brought to the attention of management so that steps can be instigated to remedy the defect or take the equipment out of service until repaired or made safe.

 Specific Requirements For Offshore Materials Coordinator:

Experience/Qualifications

  • Current offshore survival and medical certificates
  • Knowledge of ISSOW or Proscient Permit to Work system
  • Banksman and Slinger qualification and experience, working towards OPITO Stage 3
  • VHF restricted radio
  • Helideck Fire fighting
  • Fork lift truck driver (asset dependent)
  • ERT training
  • Helicopter refuelling
  • Experience of working with fire fighting/general safety equipment which would include minor repairs e.g. hydrants, hose reels, grab bags
  • Fire Extinguisher Service and Care and Maintenance Certification to BAFE standard

Preferred

  • Experience of working offshore
  • Knowledge of Maximo or similar system e.g. SAP would be beneficial in the role
  • Firefighting experience
  • I.F.E. Institute of Fire Engineering Certificate
  • Heli-deck crew
  • Effective communication skills
