Marine Maintenance Manager – London – Permanent – Competitive package

Exciting opportunity to join a leading port authority in the Engineering Department as Marine Maintenance Manager.

Reporting to and occasionally deputising for the Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, on the management of fleet and plant maintenance functions to ensure minimum downtime of vessels, systems and plant. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving safety and environmental standards.

There may also be the need to assist with marine related projects and to provide operational engineering and environmental advice as appropriate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise the building and introduction into service of ships, launches and other vessels or plant.
  • Plan, devise and implement major and routine maintenance programmes of craft, plant, equipment and facilities. Ensuring operational needs are met within affordable budgets.
  • Review and assist the development of engineering policies and procedures.
  • Specifically responsible for the apprentices and training programmes for the department.
  • Drive a positive programme of HSE awareness and actions.

You will be an experience engineer with proven strong leadership qualities, educated to degree or HNC level or appropriate equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Preferably with managerial experience in vessel repair, marine project delivery or similar businesses.
