On/Offshore Thermal Insulation Apprentice

Job description

Stork have a fantastic opportunity for Thermal Insulation Apprentice’s to join our company working on Onshore & Offshore Oil & Gas Installations and Refineries.

The successful candidate will gain a variety of specialist skills, including how to apply a range of insulation and cladding materials to pipework, vessels and ductwork and how to design and prepare patterns from which to fabricate cladding materials.

You  will be required to attend the TICA  training centre in Darlington for 2 week blocks, approximately every 3 months during an 18  month period, he/she will then spend up to a further 24 months working on site gaining more experience. Once the employer deems the apprentice as fully competent they will issued with formal Craft Indentures.
 
The successful candidate will be provided with opportunities to multi skill.

1. Create safe and compliant environment within and external to the Services unit.

• Ability to adapt to working in different environments i.e. at heights, confined spaces, outside in differing   weather conditions
• Be comfortable working away from home
• Have good practical, “hands on” skills
• Be able to use own initiative
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
• Able to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner onsite, as a representative of the     company
• Have a flexible approach to training, there may be requirements for the operative to be multi skilled.

2. Remains flexible to the needs of the business

• Undertakes reasonable ad-hoc or routine duties as directed by line manager.

• Offshore Survival (FOET)/ Current UKOOA ERT Medical/ MIST
• IRATA Rope Access Level 1
• OPITIO Blasting painting certs

•  Good Housekeeping Standards
•  Good Hazard Identification Skills
