Senior FAT Integration Engineer (Subsea Cables) – London – Permanent- £45’000 – £50’000

Our client is a Global Supplier of Subsea Engineering services, they are currently looking for a Senior Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) Engineer to lead a small team of Assemblers and Intergration Engineers.

The main responsibilities in this position will include;

  • Integration of High Capacity N*100 GBit/s WDM Optical Transmission Equipment for transoceanic subsea networks
  • Configuring the Equipment as required for the specific projects
  • Assessing which test is required for each specific project
  • Analysing and investigating issues, determining root cause, and implementing improvements as applicable. Recording investigations and failed units on the standard ticket system
  • Testing the project equipment as required
  • Compiling Test Reports for completed projects
  • Liaising with Project representatives, especially showing them equipment as it is Factory Acceptance Tested
  • Contributing to the day to day support to integration
  • Liaising closely with Villarceaux Industrial Engineering for analysing and solving significant SLTE issues
  • Generating reports for quality, efficiency and plan conformance as requested by department supervisor

Succesful candidate would have the following experience;

  • Previous experience of working on contemporary transmission equipment, preferably optical transmission equipment and ideally Alcatel-Lucent 1620LM
  • Good knowledge in SDH Transmission, and DWDM
  • Solid problem-solving skills with experience debugging problems in complex real-time systems
  • A decent number of years’ experience in contemporary transmission equipment
  • Experience & competence of working closely with Customers
