Technical Superintendent (Dry Cargo) – Glasgow – Permanent – Excellent Package

A leading Ship Owner based in Glasgow is currently recruiting for a Technical Superintendent to join the busy team.

Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, main responsibilities will be to provide all-encompassing technical management to support the daily operation of the fleet and supporting on projects.

Other responsibilities will include;

• Planning, supervision and coordination for small vessel fleet emergency dockings when required
• Assisting the project team with modifications, upgrades and projects
• Acting as liaison between the company, contractors, classification society and flag state on related overhaul works
• Vessel visits to enable planning for overhauls
• Planning and coordinating maintenance for small vessel fleet annual overhauls in conjunction with planning and coordination of spares, service providers and third parties

The successful candidate will have sailed, as a minimum, as a 2nd Engineer on Dry Cargo vessels and have shore-based experience in a similar capacity.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of competence in all aspects of smaller vessel overhauls/dockings and projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong initiative skills; ability to get started and work independently when necessary, have strong work and environmental ethics and eagerness to develop solutions to problems.
