Marine Superintendent (Gas/Tankers) – Permanent – North East, UK – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join an International ship management company based in the North East of England.

Responsibilities include:

• Acting as Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer for nominated vessels as required
• Reviewing the ship inspection reports to ensure the Company Safety and Quality Management System are properly implemented on board
• Planning vetting (SIRE and CDI) inspections as required by the charter party or Owners’ requirements and notifying the ships in advance
• Making a status check of the vessel prior planning a SIRE/CDI inspection and carrying out pre-vetting inspections on vessels to ensure compliance.
• Providing support to the Master during inspections as necessary

Experience / Qualifications Required:

• Have experience sailing as Master Mariner / Chief Officer
• Hold a class one CoC
• Must have sailing experience on board Tankers or Gas carriers (preferred)
• Previous shorebased experience as a Marine Superintendent or equivalent (preferred)
• You must also demonstrate strong communication skills and have an excellent command of written and spoken English.
