Deputy Marine Pilotage Manager – Kent – Permanent – £57,000

Exciting opportunity to join a leading port operator in their Pilotage team as a Deputy Marine Pilotage Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the effective management of a unionised workforce of approximately 110 pilots to ensure a high level of safety and service level is maintained.

• Manage the recruitment and training of new pilots.

• Manage the training and development of existing pilots.

• Help develop strategies to achieve future economies and greater efficiencies in the delivery of Pilotage and thus reduce the cost of Port usage.

• Manage the day-to-day working of the Ship Manoeuvring Simulator for internal/external training and external commercial work including Pilot training and the navigational verification of construction projects within the Port.

You will have previous experience of managing a unionised workforce and held positions with operational and budgetary responsibilities in a complex 24/7 operation – ideally gained in a Port or Marine environment.
