Container Vessel Coordinator – Liverpool – Permanent – Competitive Salary

Excellent opportunity with a world leading shipping company who are looking for a Container Vessel Coordinator to join their team based in Liverpool.

You will ensure that the relevant vessel calls run efficiently, solving any operational issues and ensure all containers are shipped to the correct vessels while minimising short shipments. And act as a focal point for internal stake holders, Container Terminals and Veseel Operators as and when issues arise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of Load list, including partner cargo information
  • Checking container arrivals and clearances to ensure all cargoes are available to load on the intended vessel
  • To liaise with Ports and Agents as required regarding the vessel call prospects to ensure berth availability and to provide correct number of lifts for optimum turn around of the vessel
  • Ensuring the preparation of ship’s bag including partner info for hazardous, OOG & reefer cargo is submitted by relevant department to meet imposed deadlines
  • Handling and ensuring that the intended transhipment connections are put in place and any subsequent changes
  • Ensure transhipments are turned around in Port System and achieve optimum routing/Turnaround time
  • Compile and issue Load and Discharge confirmation reports in line with the KPI
  • Assist as necessary with any issues relating to the laden exec process
  • Update on a daily basis local platform to reflect latest service schedules data.

Update hazardous stowage information post sailing in corporate system.

  • Arranging terminal services as required, such as Inspections / Repacking / Fumigation
  • Checking vendors invoices when assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent Communication Standards
  • Mandatory Shipping Line Operations Experience or Vessel Husbandary Experience
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to work under own direction and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications esp. Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of port community systems
  • Ability to work unsociable hours / felxiblity in work Routine
  • Educated to GCSE/equivalent in Maths and English (Grade C or above)
  • Relevant Shipping Degree / Diploma Preferred
