Technical Manager – Permanent – Southampton – Excellent Package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping company based in Southampton.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing the operation of the Company’s fleet to ensure safe and effective operation.

Responsibilities include;

• Providing monthly operational KPI reports showing performance against budget and forecasts. Completing monthly operations report in conjunction with Ship Managers.
• Working with the Ship Managers to provide support to ensure that the planned maintenance stops are completed in accordance with the specification.
• Planning all planned ship maintenance stops ensuring a competitive tendering process is completed against a detailed specification.
• Managing performance of direct reports including technical, fleet and administration.
• Responsible for the management of health and safety, compliance, repairs and maintenance, operational performance, technical development and crewing.

Experience Qualifications Required:

• Hold a Class one CoC Unlimited license
• Experience sailing as Chief Engineer on small craft / workboats
• Previous Technical Management experience
• Experience managing large budgets
• Shipbuilding / project management experience is desirable
