Chief Engineer – Research Vessel – £54k+

A leading scientific research company are currently looking for a Chief Engineer to join their team helping to support the UK’s world-wide oceanographic research program.

This is a permanent position working in the UK and Internationally.

For this position, it is essential that you hold the following:

• Certificate of Competency Chief Engineer III/2 (no restriction – motorships) (UK COC/CEC)
• Seafarer Medical Certificate (ENG1) without restrictions
• Four elements of basic training to STCW
• STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
• STCW Advanced Fire Fighting
• Proficiency in Designated Security Duties
• Valid Passport and Discharge Book
• High Voltage Management Level

Desirable qualifications are;

• Ship Safety Officer certificate

In return for your talents, our client offer a competitive remuneration package, including a pension scheme. You will accrue 25 days of leave per month worked on board and tours of duty normally two months or two scientific cruises in length.
