Underwriting Assistant/ Trainee (P&I) – London – Permanent – £30,000 – £35,000

A leading name in the International Group of P&I clubs is looking for an underwriting assistant to join their team of underwriters.

This will be a relatively junior position in the team and duties will involve assisting in underwriting P&I, FD&D and war risk insurance on behalf of policy holders and brokers. You will handle full range of underwriting services from new enquiries, amendments and cancellations through to renewals.

Applicant should have either; 1 – 2 years experience in underwriting OR, good knowledge and experience within the maritime sector with an interest to move in to insurance underwriting.You should have a degree in a relevant subject field.

A good starting salary and package is on offer to the successful applicant and the opportunity to train up as an Underwriter.
