Parts Sales Manager (Marine)

Parts Sales Manager – Southampton – Permanent – £35,000

Navis Consulting have a new opportunity with a Marine Engineering company in Southampton for a Parts Sales Manager.

Key responsibilities include:
· Responsibility for the purchasing, storage, issue and stock control of all items required to support engineering department, dealers and direct sales
· Responsibility for learning, understanding and documenting all business processes, procedures and ways of working
· Coordinating activity with the Service Manager to ensure that all engineering tasks are supported in a timely manner
· Reviewing and managing all stock to ensure that fast and slow moving items are maintained effectively to reduce stock holding and to control obsolescence
· Maintaining relationships with key suppliers to secure the best availability of spares and manage the purchase price to ensure the margins are protected.

Secondary Duties:
· Support to marketing activities, including shows and demonstrations
· Assist in training stores and other parts people to enable them to provide holiday and sickness cover for this role
· Work with the Sales Team to identify possible new business opportunities during the monthly Sales meeting
· To carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.
· To be flexible in approach to tasks that may arise from time to time directed by the General Manager
· Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement with processes and procedures.

Skills and Experience required:
· Negotiating, influencing and business development skills
· IT literate with a strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
· Knowledge of diesel engines and or the sale of spare parts is essential to the role, preferable in the marine industry.
· Experience of working in a workshop environment.
