Technical Superintendent (Bulk) – Permanent – Glasgow – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join an international shipping company based in Glasgow.

Responsibilities include:

• To co-ordinate the shore base management for the ships under his/her superintendency.
• To ensure that his ships are being managed safely and effectively in accordance with the terms of the Company’s Standard and any other criteria necessary for compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.
• Liaise with Clients, as empowered by the Fleet Manager.
• To ensure in liaison with the Fleet Director/Managing Director that adequate plans and schedules are available for the ships in order that operations, maintenance and repair are carried out.
• To coordinate the activities of all support departments to ensure that the ship support is achieved in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
• Attend the ship during drydocking and major repair periods in order to ensure that all necessary work and repairs are satisfactorily completed within agreed budgets.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

• Class one Chief Engineer Unlimited license
• Previous shore based Superintendent Experience
• Experience as a seagoing Chief Engineer on Bulk Carriers.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK as well as travel freely within the EU with no visa restrictions.
