Technical Operations Manager (Workboat) – South Coast – Permanent – Excellent Package

A leading organisation with a fleet of Workboats is currently recruiting for a Technical Operations Manager to head the Technical team based on the South Coast.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the main responsibility of the role is to manage the operation of the Company’s fleet to ensure safe and effective operation, that downtime is minimised and that fleet utilisation is maximised.

Other key responsibilities include;

• Providing monthly operational KPI reports showing performance against budget and forecasts. Completing monthly operations report in conjunction with Ship Managers.
• Working with the Ship Managers to provide support to ensure that the planned maintenance stops are completed in accordance with the specification.
• Planning all planned ship maintenance stops ensuring a competitive tendering process is completed against a detailed specification.
• Managing performance of direct reports including technical, fleet and administration.
• Responsible for the management of health and safety, compliance, repairs and maintenance, operational performance, technical development and crewing.

The successful candidate will have sailed as a Chief Engineer on board Workboats and will have a proven track record of working in a Technical Management role ashore.

You will also have experience of successfully delivering on large budgets and have previous experience of Shipbuilding project management.
