Assistant Vessel Manager (LNG) – Glasgow – Permanent – Competitive Package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company based in Glasgow.

The role acts as an intermediate step between Graduate Engineer and Vessel Manager. As such the responsibilities follow closely to those of a Vessel Manager with additional oversight and guidance from both the Fleet Director and relevant Vessel Managers.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with Class and statutory and company regulations
• Provide day to day technical and operational support and guidance to assigned vessels;
• Monitor vessel performance and ensure follow up action. Carry out regular risk reviews for vessel operations and ensure appropriate actions are taken
• Management of vessel budgets and operating expenditure
• Plan, monitor and manage dry-dockings and major scheduled and unscheduled repairs;

Experience / Qualifications Required:

• Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision making skills
• Preferably education and experience as a marine engineer on board LNG carriers
• Knowledge of technical operations for the vessel types managed (LNG)
• Knowledge of propulsion plant onboard vessels managed
• Knowledge of cargo containment system, cargo handling equipment and systems on board vessels managed
