Senior Bid and Project Manager – Surrey – Permanent – Competitive Salary + Benefits
Navis’ client are looking for a Senior Bid and Project Manager to work closely with the Senior Commercial Bid and Programme Manager to:
- Support the project implementation and ongoing management of both the clients MOD and Commercial project portfolios to meet the customer’s and company’s requirements;
- Respond to both commercial and MOD Information to Tender (ITT), Request for Information (RFI), Request for Tenders (RFT) or Request for Proposals (RFP) and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) ensuring that the solution proposed is complete and appropriate resulting in the best proposal possible.
Responsibilities include:
- Management of numerous concurrent projects and ensuring the delivery of projects to meet time, cost and performance parameters.
- Support other Project Managers in the project implementation and ensure that projects progress smoothly through the company and according to agreed timescales.
- Assist in managing the resolution process to ensure project engineering/technical issues are rectified.
- Production and ongoing management of high quality documentation including Project Management Plans, Risk Registers, Project Schedules and other project documentation as required.
- To represent the Company at key customer project and commercial meetings.
- Maintaining financial records of all projects and producing monthly financial reports to the Senior Commercial Bid and Programme Manager.
- Conducting internal Project Review Meetings with the Senior Commercial Bid and Programme Manager.
- To support the Senior Commercial Bid and Programme Manager in the writing and development and delivery of multiple concurrent tenders.
- Ensure the best possible response in terms of completeness, compliance, internal processes and procedures whilst ensuring that the customer’s requirements have been met or exceeded.
- Ensure bid wins are correctly communicated and implemented within the rest of the organization with particular emphasis on ensuring project co-ordination and through life support.
- Support the Senior Commercial Bid and Programme Manager in the production of cost models from internal departments and external costs whilst considering risk and uncertainty.
- To ensure all bids and project tasks and solutions are correctly documented and carried out in line with ISO 9001:2015 (or current equivalent) and Company policy and that records are kept centrally for bids and approved projects.
- Accountability for ensuring all project related costs are recorded and that suppliers are managed accordingly
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Must hold, or have the ability to achieve, minimum DV Security Clearance
- Bid and project management experience with UK MOD and other UK government departments.
- Commercial awareness and thorough understanding of UK MOD contracting processes and procedures.
- Engineering or science degree preferred but not essential.
- Must be extremely customer focused with a proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work hard, proactively work on own initiative, meet tight deadlines and balance priorities to achieve results.
