Parts Specialist – Southampton – Permanent – £10-12 per hour

Job Summary:
Our client have a huge; marine leisure, marine commercial, and industrial stock holding. Their busy parts counter is seeking an experienced Parts Person to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with serving and advising of our diverse range of private, trade and dealer customers as well as maintaining the stores, to ensure our department meets current ISO standards. The parts person will also work with our service department to ensuring engineers are supplied with all the parts they require. The candidate must keep our systems accurate, strive to keep our current customers happy and seek further sales opportunities.
The role will be in Swanwick, Southampton. Reporting to the Parts Department Manager, the successful candidate will be part of a growing team supporting the Penta network across the South of England and the Channel Islands. On a daily basis, the candidate will receive stock and express orders from Volvo Penta and a number of other suppliers to keep our large parts stores stocked. The new team member will receive, pick, pack and dispatch orders all over the UK, Europe and the world. The candidate will be required to create back orders, purchase orders and pick notes, whilst ensuring accuracy at each step. The position will also require a high level of technical knowledge of the Volvo Penta product range, and be able to interpret our parts catalogues and diagrams.

Qualifications and skills:

• Previous Parts Department experience essential
• Previous Marine industry experience essential
• Volvo Penta experience an advantage but not essential, as product training will be given
• Computer literate, with experience of MAM Auto Part an advantage but not essential as systems training will be given

Employment Conditions

• Full Time 40 hours/week plus overtime. Saturday and call out rota.
• Competitive hourly rate £10-£12/hr
• Commission based bonus scheme & overtime rate
• On call and call out rates
• Company pension scheme contribution after 3 months service.
