HSEQ Manager (Passenger) – Permanent – Southampton – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join an International shipping company based in Southampton.

As a senior member of the Management Team, working closely with the HSEQ team you will provide marine support to the Management and Fleet Teams in the office with emphasis on compliance with the Company Procedures, Policies and specific Group Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • To ensure the safe operation of each ship and to provide a link between the Company and those on board.
  • Act as DPA
  • To act as Safety Culture “Ambassador”, working in close collaboration with the HSEQ team implementing internal and external safety driven initiatives
  • Provide pro-active support to the Fleet Management teams in dealing with all marine, environmental, quality, operational, security and compliance issues
  • To lead, manage and mentor the HSEQ Superintendents in order to maximise their full potential
  • Compliance with Client expectations including active follow up and close out of issues raised
  • Deputise for the GM as a member of the Emergency Response Team as and when required during an emergency.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Ideally 5 years’ experience in a senior management position in ship management
  • Hold Class 1 CoC Master Unlimited License
  • Experience as DPA / CSO (Desirable)
  • Seagoing experience as Chief Officer or above on passenger vessels
  • Knowledge of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978, as amended
