Introduction

The Electrical Department in company is responsible for the design of electrical power generation and distribution systems, from large HV generators, transformers and switchgear up to lighting, heat tracing and many other systems.

Tasks

The role of the Electrical engineer comprises the following tasks:

  • Continuously consider cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.
  • Participate in Reviews.
  • Review yard documents and vendor documentation as provided by the yard for compliance with the contract.
  • Assist in conducting inspections and tests (e.g. Factory Acceptance Test)
  • Ensure that the design is fully in line with the Regulatory regime, Classification requirements, Company standards and Client requirements.

Profile

  • University or Technical College, with at least 6 years’ experience in Electrical engineering in the Marine and (Offshore) Oil & Gas industry.
  • Knowledge of international offshore and shipbuilding codes is preferred.
  • Proven competence with electrical design in hazardous areas (e.g. IECEx 001) is an advantage.
