Port Manager – Permanent – Southampton – Competitive package

This is an exciting opportunity to join a market leading shipping company based in Southampton.

As Port Manager, you will be responsible for the general management of Port operations

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure the highest level of safety and quality standards are being met
• Leadership of the team conducting the general day-to-day management of the port operation
• Build relations to crew and union representatives
• Monitor and develop new business opportunities and identify new profitable revenue streams
• Account manage the relationship with key clients in the port
• Ensure the continuous reliability of the fleet, including maintenance & repair, classification requirements.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

• An extensive background in the maritime industry with capability to communicate effectively with Port Authorities and industry groups
• Strong business acumen having sound knowledge of financial management
• Capability to deal with people at a broad range of levels
• Have a seniority of +10 years within the maritime industry & experience in a leadership role
• Strong leadership skills – able to motivate, inspire teams and drive change
