Credit Analyst – London/Oxford – Permanent

I have an excellent opportunity with leading global independent provider of counterparty risk assessment in the shipping, energy and commodity sectors. My Client are looking for a Credit Analyst to join either their London or Oxford analyst team on the maritime desk focusing in the Mediterranean region.

The Credit Analyst will responsible for undertaking various research, analysis and reporting duties:

• Provide market research into the maritime and energy, and commodity trading industries through various sources such as corporate registries and interviews with representatives.
• Assess the credit risk profiles of key entities by analysing general performance in the current market cycle as well as previous and operational/financial data with context to its relevant wider market/s
• Provide post analysis counterparty risk ratings for subject entities specifically in relation to business engagements and credit exposures.
• Generate professional analytical reports, to tight deadlines, relating to the subject entities, highlighting areas such as corporate details, history, operations, financial status, performance all relating to overall markets risk.
• All of the above will require the Credit Analyst to regularly meet with clients and other market sources on a monthly basis to maintain quality relationships and industry knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and business focused background gained from a previous Credit Research and/or Credit Analyst role. A background and proven track record in the shipping/maritime, energy or commodity trading sectors is highly desirable. A minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting from a leading academic institution is essential.
