Composite Laminators/Boatbuilders – Cullen, Scotland- Contract – Competitive Rates

Our client is looking for experienced composite laminators, plug and pattern makers and general boat builders. The company has its foundations rooted in the aim of developing and producing the ultimate boats for commercial, leisure and SAR markets, and to achieve this they’re seeking staff who are passionate about quality and innovation to work as part of their small but dynamic team. They’re currently developing and manufacturing RHIBs from 5.7m – 13m in length for a variety of roles and clients. Their manufacturing facility is based in Cullen, Moray Firth (Scotland), candidates should ideally have personal transport due to the location, as public transport is limited. Accommodation is to be arranged by the candidates, but assistance in acquiring furniture, etc will be looked at on a one to one basis.

Job Description

• Gelcoat – Application through gelcoat machine
• Hulls & structure- wet hand layup using polyester and vinylester resins with stitched combi mat, chopped mat and various core materials.
• Non critical components – Combination of chopper gun and wet layup combi and core materials.
• Infusion – some bimini roofs and other ancillary items are to be carbon/Kevlar infused.
• Plug and pattern – if skilled you will be required from time to time to help with the manufacture of new plugs/patterns for hulls, consoles, decks, etc.

Employment Conditions

• Normal hours for contractors are 07:30 – 17:30, however open to teams working longer hours and night shifts with longer periods off for weekends, etc.
• Rate of pay – depending on experience
• Location – Cullen, Moray, Scotland
• Contract length – Ongoing
