To be a successful Engineering Manager within the Shore Integration Facility you will have high level of communication skills both written and oral and be technically-minded. It is also important to possess analytically ability, as well as diplomacy. Being able to thrive under pressure and working to strict timescales is also essential for this position.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Manager (Electronic Communications) will involve:

  • Ensuring that the Internal Communications and Controls and Instrumentation capability designs are achievable, justified, planned appropriately, subjected to appropriate levels of rigour and lifecycle, and that their strategies are achieved to cost and budget
  • Delivering the overall verification, validation, and integration activities in line with the programme, ensuring that customer and user requirements are elicited and agreed, and that systems and equipment are compliant with these requirements
  • Supporting the Integrated Testing & Facility team and the Systems Integration team to ensure that activities dovetail to the wider integration and qualification plan

Your skills and qualifications as an Engineering Manager (Electronic Communications):

Essential

  • Electronics/ communications systems/ systems integration background
  • Knowledge of the product lifecycle
  • Demonstrable experience in communicating to senior management both oral and written
  • Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline e.g. electronics, systems, communication systems etc

Desirable

  • Experience of working with the MOD, including knowledge of the MOD Engineering Lifecycle
  • Knowledge of integration of complex electronic systems into platforms
