I am looking for a Master Mariner to join a leading Flag State in London. The position of Marine Investigator will provide an opportunity to improve marine safety internationally engaging with ship operators, member State agencies and vessel owners. You will be collecting, analysing and interpreting evidence from marine accidents as well as producing succinct recommendations and well-defined conclusions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise
- Assist with evidence obtained from marine casualties or incidents
- Produce accurate and thorough reports that are clearly written
- Without apportioning blame or liability, explain the circumstances and causes of accidents
- Identify safety issues to improve fleet safety
- Present technical issues to external forums when required
- Represent the company when required
- Prepare briefing papers
- Other duties assigned in this position
Requirements:
- Able to deal with complex issues
- STCW 11/2 Master Mariner
- Degree-level or equivalent education
- Must have sailed as Master
- Must have Marine Investigator experience
- Excellent understanding of international maritime legislation
- Be willing and able to travel at short notice
