Naval Architect – North Aberdeenshire – Permanent – Salary
(depending on experience)

Naval Architect/Designer required for a successful local company with global reach. Since its inception in 1993, they risen and expanded steadily to become one of the most prolific naval architect and marine consultancies in the commercial and fishing vessel sectors. A worldwide reputation of designing work boats, tugs, fishing vessels, ferries, pilot boats, patrol boats, dredgers, research vessels and multipurpose vessels, with over 200 vessels in operation to their unique designs.

Job Role:
The candidate would be involved in all areas of naval architecture including bureau work on existing vessels and new design from concept to commissioning of vessels from 8m – 50m.

Person Specification

  • Graduate with a degree in Naval Architecture or 2 – 3 years’ experience within the Design/ Naval Architecture industry
  • Ability to draw concept/structural drawings of vessels
  • Experience of working in an office environment is preferred
  • The ability to ‘problem-solve’
  • Literate in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Employment conditions

  • Candidate would need to be willing to relocate as the location of the client is in a remote area of Scotland
  • 40 hour per week (Monday – Friday)
  • Pension Scheme
